General, Non-Confidential Tax Questions Form

The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration is committed to improving the services it provides to taxpayers. Accordingly, the Department has implemented a service to provide answers to general, non-confidential tax questions submitted via e-mail.

Otherwise, you may call the Information Center toll-free at 1-800-400-7115 or visit the nearest California Department of Tax and Fee Administration Field Office.

We will respond as quickly as possible. Our goal is to answer all of your questions within 9 business days. If we are unable to answer your specific request within the 9 days, we will send you an acknowledgement notifying you that we have received your request and are working on a response to you.
