Six California Departments Join Forces for Career & Resource Fair
What: Six State of California Departments are hosting a joint Career & Resource Fair at the campus they share. The September 16 event at the May Lee State Office Complex (MLSOC) in Sacramento will give jobseekers hands-on guidance through the State hiring process, including breakout sessions on interview skills, submitting a standout application package, and tips on writing a compelling Statement of Qualifications.

People interested in entering state service will be able to meet and learn from recruitment specialists at the following departments:
- Board of Equalization
- California Department of Tax and Fee Administration
- Department of Civil Rights
- Department of Financial Protection and Innovation
- Department of Housing & Community Development
- Department of Real Estate
This event also features an on-site computer lab to aid interested jobseekers with the online job application process, information about benefits, and free headshots for the first 25 registrants.
The May Lee State Office Complex opened in March 2024 in Sacramento’s River District. It is the largest all-electric, zero-carbon workplace campus in the U.S. and can accommodate over 5,000 state employees.
The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) administers California's sales and use, fuel, tobacco, alcohol and cannabis taxes, as well as other taxes and fees that fund specific state programs. CDTFA-administered programs accounted for more than $97.8 billion in the 2024/25 fiscal year, supporting essential local services such as transportation, public safety and health, libraries, schools, social services and natural resource management programs through the distribution of tax dollars directly to local communities.
