“A career in public service is rewarding and there is no better time to start your journey or apply for a promotion,” said California Department of Technology (CDT) Director Liana Bailey-Crimmins. “At CDT, we value diversity and inclusion where every person can bring their whole self to the office as we work toward a California for all.”

Recruiters will provide guidance on the state application process, such as how to search for and apply for exams and positions, including information technology, financial services, entry-level, and positions that do not require a degree. Participants will have a chance to ask questions and learn more about career opportunities at the multiple departments participating in the virtual career fair.

Representatives from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration, Department of Rehabilitation, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Technology, and Office of Data and Innovation will provide detailed information in breakout sessions covering the Limited Examination and Appointment Program (LEAP), an alternate selection process designed to facilitate the recruitment and hiring of persons who are differently-abled; the Veterans’ Preference assistance program; information technology positions available in the state; and entry-level positions.

“As a leader in government innovation, the Office of Data and Innovation is committed to leveraging the latest tools and techniques to ensure the equitable hiring of California's top talent. Our department is growing fast and we're looking forward to sharing details about the great career opportunities at ODI during this virtual event,” said Office of Data and Innovation acting Director Jared Johnson.

Employment with the State of California offers team members great benefits, a solid work/life balance, career development opportunities, job security, and telework options.

The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) administers California's sales and use, fuel, tobacco, alcohol, cannabis taxes, and other taxes and fees that fund specific state programs. CDTFA-administered programs accounted for more than $96.2 billion last fiscal year, supporting essential local services such as transportation, public safety and health, libraries, schools, social services, and natural resource management programs through the distribution of tax dollars going directly to local communities.
